Castiglioncello is the ideal city for combining a refreshing holiday with learning the Italian language. It also a perfect starting point for exploring the historic cities and magnificent landscape of Tuscany. Cities like Pisa, Lucca, Volterra, San Gimignano, Florenz, Siena, Livorno and the island of Elba are all within a short travelling distance. A trip to Rome takes only about 3 - 3.5 hours and can be done easily on weekends.

Memorable activities are organized at regular intervals to ensure a holiday that is relaxing and entertaining, e. g. visits at several Etruscan museums, trips to a vineyard or simply dining out and discovering Tuscan gastronomic specialties .

Other popular places for excursions are the nature reserve areas at Bolgheri and Rimigliano, the mediaeval towns of Campiglia Marittima, Suvereto, Castagneto Carducci, the Etruscan museums in Popolonia, Rosignano Marittimo, Massa Marittima and the numerous agri-tourism farms in Tuscany with their regional specialities and cuisine. The whole area is dotted with buildings and churches dating back to the Renaissance, the Mediaeval and the ancient world of the Etruscans and Romans. Hot tip - hot springs resorts

In Venturina (25 minutes) and Casciana Therme (40 minutes), you can relax in the traditional hot springs of the Etruscans and Romans.
