Pasolini Language School is recognized as an exam center for DITALS certificates. We also offer preparatory courses for the DITALS DIPLOMA. The exams are held twice a year directly in our school.

Training for teachers

The official DITALS exam is designed for teachers of the Italian language in public and private schools. For these courses, it is expected that the teacher has a very good knowledge of Italian and some basic knowledge in didactic concepts.

Both levels of the DITALS focus on didactic concepts in classroom.

The diploma is issued by the University for foreigners of Siena and recognized through the Italian ministry of education.

DITALS Centre - Certification of Competence in Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language

The DITALS Centre conducts research and provides services for the planning, creation and administration of the DITALS Certification of Competence in Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language (Level 1 and Level 2).

The DITALS Certification is a cultural qualification granted by the University for Foreigners of Siena that certifies the possession of the theoretical and practical competences needed to fulfill the role of teacher of the Italian language to foreigners after an examination consisting of written and oral assignments.

DITALS Level 1 certifies basic competence in teaching Italian to foreigners, targeted to specific profiles of learners: children – teenagers - adults and seniors - immigrants - college students - learners of Italian origin - tourism and hotel operators – Catholic priests and nuns – students from the USA - learners whose mother tongue is Chinese, Arabic or Japanese.

DITALS Level 2 certifies advanced competence in teaching Italian to many different profiles of learners.

Annual Courses of Higher Education:
Master DITALS (60 credits): a one-year postgraduate course (3 modules in presence and 7 modules in e-learning), concluding with the discussion of a final project which includes the achievement of DITALS Certification Level 1(for the chosen profile) and DITALS Certification level 2.
Postgraduate DITALS Course (20 credits) consists mainly of online modules.

The DITALS Centre is project partner of the International Association EAQUALS - Evaluation and Accreditation of Quality Language Services.
